Darwin's Evolutions is proud to announce that we are accepting the submission of new stories for consideration in our First Annual Halloween Issue Contest.

This is not a "Horror" genre contest. Rather, we are looking for the most creative stories that brush the established tropes of science fiction and fantasy against the "creepy" side of the questions of the spirit realm and life after death. Horrific aspects may or may not be present but the key is to tell tales that carry the "feel" of Halloween with them.

All of our standard guidelines for the acceptance of new fiction stories are still in force, except that the word limit is capped at 7,500. Additionally, you must include the words "Halloween Contest Submission" in the header of your e-mail when you send us your manuscript. We will also be accepting hardcopy manuscripts at our new P.O. Box address: Darwin's Evolutions, P.O. Box 816, Bloomington, IN 47402.

The top three placing stories will be published in our Halloween issue and will also receive the following prize benefits:

First place: $100.00 in addition to contract and the cover art will be based on your story.

Second place: $50.00 in addition to contract.

Third place: $25.00 in addition to contract.

The top five finalists will all be recognized in the issue although only the top three are guaranteed publication.

Deadline is 12:00 AM EST July 1, 2008.
